I don't mind in some designated areas, but it was a surprise when I didn't notice it at first. Oops.

It doesn't surprise me. Oregon is becoming another California day by day. I only go into Bend to see Drs or to go to WinCo. Once I'm done, I leave ASAP. I wish central Oregon would think more about our residents, rather than money.

This only hurts locals. Charge tourists all you want but don’t penalize locals for supporting our downtown businesses.

Parking downtown is already difficult. Why make it worse?

They should close the streets downtown and make it walking and biking only. T Some towns do this already. We have a parking garage!

They stopped charging to park in Bend years ago because no one was going downtown. Is the City of Bend trying to ruin the downtown businesses??

If paying for parking in downtown Bend were to be implemented, then it is time to seriously consider a number of off-area parking with shuttles to downtown provided. Downtown parking revenues should help pay for the costs of the parking shuttles. Time to start thinking outside the box.

The argument that parking is at a premium is due to all the spots being taken up by tents and tables from restaurants. Plus this will just exasperate the already crowded parking in surrounding residential areas.

I stop downtown for a quick pick up (15-20 minutes) usually for food. If I have to pay for a quick stop, and not being able to run in without the hassle. While on my already short lunch, I will just go somewhere else.

I am already limited by vehicle length, dining with shopping or Tower Theater event takes longer than time allowed and I've been ticketed for both so I avoid downtown anyway. This will just keep more locals away which hurts local business.
